Elegant Efficiency Hand Carved Barley Twist Study Table

The Barley Twist Desk is a throwback to the British Raj and a time when there was a drive to industrialize and modernize the Indian sub-continent from one end to the other. This Desk is based on a design that was in the Station Head’s Office in one of the larger Railway Junction Cities in North India – and is perfect for use in many different settings. It can easily double up as a small conference table, as there is plenty of clearance to draw up chairs on either side.

The Barley Twist Desk has many small but impressionable details. First, you will love the marble top, the spiral table legs are beautifully handcrafted with painstaking details, and the base with a double adds structural integrity and strengthens the desk overall. The drawers are practical, and just right to keep the top clutter-free.

Furncarve products are primarily handmade at small artisanal facilities in a traditional manner, in small batch quantities, or often as an individually made-to-order item if it is a part of our custom or bespoke program. Naturally – this means products may have variations between two items that may have been made in a separate batch or at a different time. Thus, minor imperfections are part of the patina for these products.

  • Natural Mango Wood: This is a natural product of Mango wood, making each piece unique. Knot holes, unevenness, and very minimal breaks or separations in the wood grain enhance the individuality of each piece.
